Currently semi-retired from Competitive Eating, Chapman is one of the great pioneers of Competitive Eating and is one of the founding Food Warriors of the Association of Independent Competitive Eaters.

Arnie is a former Pennsylvania State Hoagie Eating Champion and previous World Record holder in chili by downing an unbelievable 7.1 lbs in five minutes in Las Vegas Nevada. Chapman holds the World Record in Sour Pickles by downing 2.97 lb. in 3:45 seconds and is the current World Record Holder for clementines where he devoured a case of Clementines in 3:04 seconds. Chowhound holds the record for Applebee's Boneless Chicken Wings by eating 3.6 lbs of Habenero smothered boneless chicken wings in only 6 minutes. The "Hound" can also boast titles in Hotdogs, Pickles, Chicken Wings, Corn Beef Sandwiches and falafel . One of his most his most astounding accomplishments was his victory in Madison Square Garden where he won the Frank's Red Hot Chicken Wing Eating Contest by chowing 100 Chicken Wings in only 8 minutes.

This former Infantry Soldier and Marathon Runner has eaten a 76 oz. steak in 21 minutes at J&R's Steak House in Stony Brook, New York. Although "Semi-retired" Chowhound is known to occasionally jump into a food fracas to relive the excitement of competitive eating and to keep the younger Food Warriors honest.

Arnie is married with two sons and works as a Children's Consultant for the for the Blind and Visually Impaired in New York State. . He is also actively involved in promoting Competitive Eating and often serves as MC, Judge, and is the Chairman of the Association of Independent Competitive Eaters. Arnie is on a sacred mission, where he hopes to restore decency and honor to competitive eating through the implementation of "Picnic Style Rules"

Chapman has appeared on almost all of the major networks as well as three appearances on the Food Network and Competitive Eating's most entertaining film "Swallow Your Pride" which was released in September of 2006.
