World Rib Eating Championship Set For Memorial Day
Weekend at the Great American Barbecue Festival in
Kansas City Kansas.

This year’s showdown will be held at one of the Worlds largest Barbecue Festivals, Great American Barbecue Eating Festival in Kansas City Kansas! Mark Lyle “The Human Vacuum” and “Gentleman” Joe Menchetti  will be the featured Eaters at the  2nd Annual World Rib Eating Contest in Kansas City Missouri sponsored by Daniel's Barbecue on Sunday, May 27th, 2007. 

Daniel's, known for it’s mouth watering Barbecue has decided to move the venue from the confines of it’s cozy family Restaurants to the “Big Stage.”  Daniel's owner Tommy Taylor states that “The big-time stage of the Great American Barbecue Festival is a perfect match for the big time KC Barbecue taste that epitomizes the Daniel's Barbecue experience.”

This year’s match-up will be especially exciting because of the extremely narrow margin of victory between Lyle and Menchetti at last years inaugural event.  Since then, Menchetti has been especially eager for a rematch.  Also, rumors have circulated that there are some undiscovered Food Warriors from Missouri and Kansas who have been preparing to pull off the ultimate upset and bring the title back to the Midwest.   According to AICE Chairman Arnie “Chowhound” Chapman, he has received multiple inquiries from prospective Eaters who have stated unequivocally that its a matter destiny that a local unknown will emerge as the next World Rib Eating Champion.  Daniel's BBQ

The GAB will open to the public from 5 PM on Friday, May 25th, to 11:00 PM. Saturday May 26th will be open from10:00 AM to Midnight. Sunday, gates are open from 10AM to Midnight.
