Great Australian Shank Off Eating Championship
Contest Rules


√ Picnic Style Rules Apply: contestants must eat the Shank in accordance to custom and tradition. Judges

will clarify to Food Warriors prior to the start of the contest(s) what constitutes Australian Picnic Style rules

(The do’s and don’t’s in regards to Australian Picnic Style Rules-The use of condiments, utencils, liquids, etc.)

 

√ Judges may issue a warning if Eater is in performance of a “Picnic Profanity” or is cited for Debris

mismanagement (excessive food on the floor, table or around the eating area) or other violations.

√ Food warriors will be disqualified for “Reversal Of Fortune”, ”Urges contrary to swallowing” during the

course of the contest. Also the “two-minute-no-return rule” after the contest has ended. Clock will continue

to run for an additional two minutes after the 12 minute regulation period ends.

√ The Shank-off will be a 12 minute contest unless someone is crazy enough to finish the Shank in less than

12 minutes at which time acute psychiatric care may be arranged for that person.

√ 30-second Chipmunk-Rule at end of time limit. Any food matter in a Food Warriors mouth after 30 seconds

will result in a 1/2 lb penalty.

√ Winner determined by total weight of Shank eaten. Each Shank will have a pre-Weight which will be

measured against final weight in order to determine total weight eaten.

√ In case of a tie, Food Warriors will engage in an Arm wrestling match to determine the winner.

Female contestants can use both arms
