"The Mad City Masticator" and a large contingent of friends wildly celebrated in the rain after this truly remarkable accomplishment. It is rumored that this man of science may have aligned himself with the spirit of the "Frog God" and therefore acquired unfair advantage...investigation continues.
Rubber-Gut and G-Joe represent… The amazing tag team performance from Elizabeth “Rubber-Gut” Canady and Gentlemen Joe Menchetti when they soundly defeated eating legend “The Giant” Shirota and Japanese Female eating sensation Tomoko “Este” Miyake. One could argue that Moment #1 may have been the result of Moment #8.
AICE MEMORABLE MOMENT # 7 AICE and Backyard Burger collaborated and developed the National Back Yard Burger Eating Championship. This event featured four qualifiers with the Championship event culminating in Memphis TN. This AICE sanctioned event attracted some great Southern Eaters who will be on the Competitive Eating Scene for years to come. Also, this National Eating Championship also paid respect to the American icon known as the Hamburger and became an important symbol for the merits of Picnic Style Eating venues across America. Also, this event confirmed America’slove of a Hamburger that is well dressed, substantial and delicious. AICE was happy to report that in the five contests that were conducted none of the beautiful 1/3 lb Hamburgers suffered from water immersion or drowning or other water induced injuries.
Excitement in Jersey! Ian "The Invader" Hickman's new picnic style world record in 1/4 LB Hot Dogs where he consumed a bite under 15 monster 1/4 LB Hot Dogs in 10 minutes. This contest had all the necessary elements for a top 10 moment; Great crowd, "Beer Girls" and several top Eaters going bite for bite during the battle.
The Vacuum clobbers Chili record Mark Lyle "The Human Vacuum "sucks up" 8.3 lb. of Chili to claim the new World Record and Eating Championship in Canton Ohio. Mark, a native Ohioan could not have found a better place to smash the old record by more than a pound. However, Mark had some incentive as two other Eaters bit at his heels for the entire contest, finishing just under 8lbs each. The Canton Ohio crowd, intense level of competition and New World Record give it all the elements for a top 10 moment.
Menchetti’s Dominance in Caribbean Food continues to awe In the many Caribbean neighborhoods in the tri-state area old ladies speak of a tuxedoed “Eating Legend” that cannot be beaten by man or beast…Gentleman Joe "Mon"chetti, in stunning" fashion, continues his dominance in Caribbean Food items by smashing his Beef Patty record and clipping 7 seconds off his Bun & Cheese record. Apparently, the sound of Bob Marley makes Joe hungry.…Can anybody on planet Earth defeat Gentlemen Joe in the “Irie” disciplines? We doubt it.
AICE MEMORABLE MOMENT # 3
This 46 year old, 98lb Chef has proven to be among the Worlds best female Food Warriors. AICE, prior to Ms. Canady’s arrival, had lacked an elite female Eater until Ms. Canady challenged and soundly defeated the Japanese female Eating Legend Tomoko Miyake in a medley of Pumpkin based Food eating competitions. Shortly afterward, “Rubber-Gut” distinguished herself in a mini burger Eating contest and also took 2nd place in the National Potato Latke Eating Championship. Elizabeth, as a member of Team-USA was the only eater to defeat her Japanese opponent (The Great Sugawara) in Toyo Japan by devouring 8lbs of French Fries in 30 minutes! Also, Ms. Canady, while visiting Long Island New York, faced and decisively conquered several eating challenges including the honor of being the first person ever to eat the Black Rock Tavern Hamburger (9lbs+ of Hamburger) in only 30 minutes! Ms. Canady has been rumored to have eaten 20lbs of Food in one sitting and truly deserves to be called “Rubber-Gut” when it comes to food consumption.
AICE MEMORABLE MOMENT # 2
Jaw dropping performance by Tom “Goose” Gilbert and the emergence of another great Competitive Eating Voice Goose Gilbert pounding down 9lbs of strawberries in 7 minutes leaving much of the crowd & other Eaters dumbfounded with amazement. "The Goose" established a new standard and broke the previous record by nearly 4 lb . Also, this event featured Derek “Wing-Tut” Payne as Co-Emcee who showed the crowd that he could be the next great voice of Competitive Eating.
AICE MEMORABLE MOMENT # 1
Team USA consisting of Tom “The Goose” Gilbert, Ian “The Invader” Hickman, Elizabeth “Rubber-Gut” Canady, Angel Chiriboga, Sweet Jill Stoler, Arnie 'ChowHound' Chapman, Juanita ‘Baby Doll” Deptowitcz and Team Captain David Coondog O'Karma travel to Tokyo Japan to take on Japan’s best in the first ever USA vs. Japan Eating Championship. Not only did these AICE eaters represent America’s best Food Warriors they also were featured as Actors and Entertainers on a very popular NTV-Japanese Show on New Years day 2008. In addition to starting off AICE's #1 moment of 2008, this truly fantastic event could be regarded as one of the true catalytic moments in Competitive Eating history.
